@sbdnigeria: This was such a high moment from our event on the 19th of September 2026. @SmileFit_🦷🏋️ attempted this squat but failed it. It was a painful sight as lookers wanted that bar up! But unfortunately it was a NO LIFT. It posed the question of the spotters being bad at their job etc. 1) we are determined to take feedback — There’s is not a single spotter in nigeria who is certified and can claim they’ve got international standard coaching— what does this mean?! We have got work to do.. not until a few years ago we got bodies who started making personal training certification a necessity in gyms. 2) the spotter held those weights but are also not equipped to lift 290kg — what does this mean! We invested in a @Rogue Fitness combo rack; we’re still waiting for delivery of this and it will definitely be featured in 2027 Championship. This will eliminate using plates to hold the rack, using a caged rack like so is also not conducive. 3) we searched around to find a combo rack in Lagos! no seller, no gym no one had one! If you do please let us know down in the comments. 4) building is lonely, let’s not tear each other apart because of errors. Read about how IPf was formulated — it was formulated on the lack of standardization not even the lack of competition. The were already doing comps. These people came together and said something can be done! And they did it TOGETHER All we ask is to join forces with people who love the sport of powerlifting!
