Deficit calculation for K is (4- measured potassium) * body weight *0.4 . What ever you get add 60 mmol ( daily requirement) to it making it the total potassium you will give the patient. Don’t forget that before you give potassium make sure kidney function is good and you can’t give more than 20mmol/ hr
