My brain is either completely blank but with a faint view in the distance of the thousands of tabs being open that I can’t access. Or it’s just a thousands of tabs open

You can also address this holistically by doing deep nervous system healing work. Adderall is a wonderful tool, but has some pretty serious side effects long term, and really should just be used until self management is achieved 🖤

Ok but then the bingo ball spinner breaks open and starts spitting out 4 at a time and I have to hurry or else there will be more

Just a heads up; make sure you are eating a high protein diet bc it helps your meds & brain work better together.

I stopped taking mine while pregnant and breastfeeding and I cannot wait to restart! That rotating ball analogy is great. For years I was diagnosed with Anxiety but after seeking more opinions and I was actually diagnosed with ADHD and after I started medication my anxiety practically vanished. My anxiety was just a symptom of my untreated ADHD and that was the most eye opening experience of my life

I got diagnosed at 33/34 and prescribed adderall. I just decided to stop taking the adderall because it made my autism more obvious. The coping mechanisms I learned over the years to deal with the AuDHD are easier to manage than having the medication in my opinion. It’s just about not letting myself burn out again so badly.

Mines like when a computer motor spins super super fast and gets warmer and then taking the medicine is the fan that cools it down and the spinning slows, while simultaneously being a hamster that can’t get off its wheel

girl, I would forget if I took my medication. I have to keep it in a weekly organizer to remember if I took it or not.

Mine is like bubbles over my head and me trying to pop each one that contains a task, memory or issues I need to attend to all at once. And when you pop one another pops up.. never ending.

I describe my ADHD as an old antenna tv where the screen is just static and you keep adjusting the antenna, but never get a clear channel, just little glimpses of picture and sound from the various channels

That description feels so accurate to me. My mom says when I was little I would frustratedly say “I think and I think but nothing happens” while trying to do homework. Idk how I didn’t get diagnosed till my mid 20’s 😅

oof that last part. as an eldest daughter, Capricorn, child of abuse, and no familial safety net, my ADHD brain feels like I am trying to deactivate a 💣 in my head 100% of the time.

Idk if it's because I was diagnosed 27 years ago but the meds just don't work anymore. It's so hard

Getting diagnosed at 29 was so relieving for me. It made everything make sense. And I feel human finally. I didn’t understand how people did things after work, I’d get home and crash because I worked SO hard trying to keep up at work all day when I got home I had no spoons left. Adderall helps so much, I’m not physically or emotionally exhausted from trying to mask or out work my ADHD.

I'm another honors student with late diagnosed (early 30's) adhd. having kids blew apart the house of cards scaffolding that was supporting my brain/processes. I didn't know the hyperactive piece could be in our brain versus body. 🤯 it's a process to find what works for you but you aren't alone in the struggle. ❤️
