It’s genuinely baffling how ppl can’t interpret animation past just how it looks, watching this fight as a kid I was easily able to see what they were trying to go for as in showing the intensity of the fight. Obviously I wasn’t aware of the smaller and simpler things like simpler drawings give more fluidity to the animation, but it’s surprising how many ppl couldn’t understand what Pierrot was tryna convey with this ep

People really still don't know the difference between animation and art style. The animation here is fluid, and gorgeous. The ART is heavily stylized. If you don't like it, thats fine, because it's a matter of taste. But to objectively claim its ass is just not really a defensible position because you're judging a subjective, stylistic choice as if its an objective flaw, which it isn't. You can dislike it and still acknowledge the time, talent, effort, and quality that were put into this animation. especially due to the fact that this fight inspired a lot of modern sakuga animations with its expressive, and loose, high speed style. This loose distorted style of animation has been in countless shows and is always almost praised for it, which i find to be extremely ironic, considering everyone hated on it in this context. And like i said, its fine NOT to like it. but people take it way farther than that, and just spew nonsense
