I love your take on this. I also think there could also be a second subplot to it where her fans (or haters) literally say I hate this song and then she puts out something new and they’re like wait but actually I loved TTPD and midnights and are nostalgic for that and want that old melody even though they’re the same people who said TTPD was too verbose and slow and sad and she needed to use a new producer and sound… the grass is always greener
