My parents tried taking my door once didn't work so well for them when I started blasting my music and then they tried taking my speaker and I just bought a new one. I just kept finding ways to annoy them so they just gave me it back and never punished me again to be honest they gave up.

My mom took my door in 7th grade so every night at exactly 2:16am I would sit straight up in bed, eyes closed and scream. Just one scream. Then I'd lie back down and go to sleep. Got it back in a week.

The only time I support taking a door is when there is a genuine safety risk, and in that situation there should be direct therapist involvement. Otherwise it’s just punitive with no real goal. You just make your kids hate you
