Were they unvaccinated or had they lost their antibodies from the vaccine over time? I asked to have my antibodies checked after a friend told me that her MMR had worn off. I really had no idea that this was something that could happen until a few years ago. Get your antibodies checked guys or you could also be at risk.

Id lose my religion. My son spent his first 5 months in a nicu, born at 25 weeks. Measles would have killed him. Instead now hes a 22 yo college Sr. Praying for those families 💙

They should require proof of vaccination to enter the nicu and everyone needs to wear a mask to enter!

This isn’t uncharted territory, unfortunately. This is (with obvs a very different virus and situation) the same conversation we just had with Covid. I hate people. I hope the babies and staff and families are okay.

NICU mom/mom to a newly kidney-transplanted child with a compromised immune system. This is terrifying. This happened at Cincinnati Children’s emergency room a few days ago as well.

when i was pregnant I found out that my MMR had not fully kept vaccinated from rubella. I was panicking until I gave birth so I could get the booster because I know there are more and more people who choose to not keep themselves and others safe. its the ultimate sign of selfishness to not get vaccinated.

My oldest was a 24 weeker. He wasn’t even two pounds when he was born. Across from him in the NICU was a baby with cystic fibrosis. Next to him was a baby who was born to a mom with severe preeclampsia who fought for three days and didn’t make it. If someone came in an introduced measles to this I can’t even imagine what would happen. I am fkn furious for the parents, medical staff and babies in that NICU.

This has happened at the penn state children’s hospital as well. Super scary. My two kids are immune compromised and will get sick just from being in public. And my 8 month old isn’t old enough for the MMr vax yet. Since the PA’s numbers are going up we shall be home bodies.

My youngest spent a lot of time in the NICU and I can tell you on any given day is the most stressful of your life without something like this.
