I don’t like the part where Kristy says “I might ask the dad a few times” that puts all lot of responsibility over the mom, and that’s so cruel to divorced women, always carrying the responsibility to make their children feel included in the father’s life, that’s his responsibility

If he's "in the entourage" he should have been included in the group fitting? Bride's are usually on top of that stuff, I'm sure she was the one who chose the dogs suit. Why did she leave the kid out? Seems intentional. Why would dad let that happen? Dad and new wife are both thd ah.

That’s fully on dad. None of this is mom’s responsibility. When my uncle got married he reached out to his ex-gf to organizing having time w his ex step daughter (yep not even bio his child) so they could get her a dress for his wedding. It is on the person getting married to organize THEIR child’s attire. Only thing mom shoulda had to do was maybe drop son off at a fitting

It’s not just on the dad it’s also shows how the future wife views his son, an after thought..

For me, the key part is mum bought a suit for her wedding...dad should have done the same. She atleast tried to match colour wise, I only feel that maybe she should have sent her son with the blue suit, so atleast he could look more formal...but Dad needs to buck up and deal with his own sons suit at his own wedding!

shouldn't the parent getting married be purchasing the suit?

the fact they got something *for the dog* but left it up to the mom (without seemingly asking or informing her she needed to buy anything) says something. Personally, I feel like mom might have reached out to coordinate. but. there is probably a reason that she didnt.

Did it say "he was supposed to be the ring bearer?" That reads like he didn't actually wind up being the ring bearer because of this. Which if that's the case dad is a huge a-hole.

NTA it’s not the moms job. I was in my dad and stepmom’s wedding and they got my dress/shoes/accessories bc it’s not my mom’s job

None of this is on Mom, he's Dad's kid, it was Dad's wedding. Dad's family is just embarrassed how much of a thoughtless father he is & how poorly it reflects on them

If he is in the entourage and needs to match, it’s up to the people getting married to make sure he has the appropriate wardrobe

If he was a good father, he would’ve taken that as a good time to bond with his son. Trying on suits together would be a great father, son experience.

it s the dad s wedding ; he should have provided a matching suit for his teenager ! if they are so close why didn’t he ? really it’s not OK ; however the mom must know how he is ; I really think that she should have called the dad and figured things out , not a month or a week before but way ahead ..
