working 80 hours a week and sleeping 8 hours a night means that there are 32 hours left in the week. 32 hours to get ready for work in the morning. drive to and from work, get ready for bed, shower, eat dinner, and have casual conversation with the strangers that you share DNA with. 32 hours is not enough time in a week. take care of yourself let alone maintain any relationships

I used to work 72 hour weeks. i never saw anybody all I did was work and sleep. My 1 day off a week was my laundry day. Fill up the car, get groceries. That's 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. And I didn't include my 45 minute drive each way.

In the 70s my dad worked in the steel mill. With commuting there it was an 11 hour day. So when he got home he had dinner and a bath and then we had family time. He retired at 48 with his 30 years in and never regretted it. Family is the most important
