The only two things he didn’t do right was oiling the filter o-ring and over tightening the oil filter it only needs to be hand tight when it heats up the o-ring swells

I was taught a light film of oil on the gasket of the oil filter and to fill the oil filter up as well with new oil

I wonder if you were the next to take that filter off do you think you could? Dry gasket + over torqued means the gasket will stick to the oil filter housing and my guess is you when you finally got it off would not check to see if the old gasket stuck to the housing and would double gasket and send it out and be buying a new engine for that vehicle. AND NO I AM NOT TELLING YOU WHERE I AM!
