That behavioral euthanasia’s weren’t needed, they absolutely are.

I used to be very pro “adopt don’t shop” but now I’m strictly “adopt OR shop RESPONSIBLY”

I think TNR is still better than the alternative of nothing. Its not perfect by any means but at least its doing something, most people sit back and do nothing.

Cats being an invasive species. That was a tough one to swallow for a long time.

spay abort is so much kinder than a whole litter of puppies entering the world unwanted. I am so tired of seeing 4 month old dogs up for re-home or in shelters

TNR is the only option we have at the moment. There isn’t a vet in the country I can pull up to who will euth 20 cats a week no questions asked. Not a private vet or shelter. Not supporting TNR is just allowing cats to breed unchecked

I don't understand, if you aren't TNR'ing what's the alternative? Letting the cat population explode? Nature is absolutely metal, and in many areas of the countries 90% of cats just freeze to death in winter, that's a horrible plan.

I've also questioned TNR over euthanasia. Cats are the only invasive species we re-release. They get pretty privileges

You dont say why you were wrong. That would be interesting. Like why do we need purebred cats?

all this aside from TNR, the vacuum affect is real in colonies. cats will fill a void where the resources are available. TNVR done properly makes a big difference.

I used to despise people for rehoming pets. Now I’m just grateful I’ve never been in a position where rehoming my pets was my only option.

this was my soul cat who i lost a few years back. she changed my entire view on outdoor cats because I watched her fight for her life multiple times and there wasn't anything I could do to help her (I was a child and had no say in the matter). she was the sweetest cat I had ever had and I was the ONLY person she bonded with. she should have been given the world and I will never have another outdoor cat as long as I live. i miss my molly so much

I also strongly beleive socioeconomic geography matters. It makes more sense when people hate breeders in a high stray dense population vs saying it where a stray population is non existent.

Oh girl I was a HEAVY adopt don’t shopper. That keeping dogs multiple years in a rescue was just part of the process for them finding a home. Also believed in TNR. Not rescue specifically but I used to be against e collars for dog training (I thought they actually shocked). I could go on and on

I used to help take care of a cat colony, and now I get death threats for advocating against it 😅 Another big one I've learned is never feed wildlife of any kind. I used to feed birds, but never again. Planting native plants is a much better alternative.
