RECOVERED, STRONG, RESILIENT, EMPOWERED AND ABSOLUTELY INSPIRATIONAL🥺❤️ Mandy’s story is so touching I genuinely can’t even put into words how proud I am of her incredible journey and how strong + brave she has been. To look back at how far she’s come honestly brings tears to my eyes because no-one should have to go through such a toxic illness 🥺- But Mandy fought it and has come back the most amazing, beautiful and strong person; both inside and outside In 2019 Mandy was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. At such a young age she had to go through 10 rounds of 2 chemos, countless scans and 17 radiotherapy sessions. When Mandy was given the all clear to start exercising, I remember having a chat with her at the gym we go to and she told me how she was trying to get back into the gym but felt scared as she thought she would have 0 strength and she wasn’t sure what to do Mandy joined Empower back in 2021 and we slowly eased her back into exercise; building up her strength + moving her through a multitude of different programmes to suit her abilities and confidence within the gym. At the same time, we built up her calories whilst slowly progressively overloading her lifts in the gym so that we could really start to build and sculpt her body. However, the goal wasn’t just to change her body; Mandy wanted to feel good in her skin but she also wanted the gym to be her therapy & the place she could go to zone out the rest of the world. Hitting PB’s and even little things like hitting her step count and reaching little mini goals I set her made Mandy feel proud + accomplished. As we used to go to the same gym I genuinely saw a HUGE change in her self confidence🥹💛 Mandy: You should be so proud of yourself.
