@the.half.percent.club: Breaking TWO of my normal trading rules today… and I’m still confident in this trade. 👀 I’m currently sitting on an unrealized loss of about 7%, which is well beyond my normal 5% stop-loss rule. Normally, I’d be out. No questions asked. But this time, I decided to trust my analysis and hold the position over the weekend. So the question is… Did I break my own rules and make a dumb decision? Or is this an example of knowing when to trust your conviction instead of blindly following a rule? I’ll find out next week. 📈 What would you have done? #TheHalfPercentClub #StockMarket #DayTrading #stocks #Investing
5% stop loss is steep. Should be like 2% if your goal is .5%

This is the problem with your strategy. 1 bad move can wipe out days or months of positive trades. And / or you can end up with your capital tied up to avoid crystallising a loss.

Stick to your 5% stop loss, I think your letting emotions get to you and that's not good.

This seems like a risky stock considering your strategy. I’m sure it will be fine, but I would have stuck with your stop loss and just moved on to the next day. Too much craziness can potentially happen over the weekend.

This is very common in trading psychology, and it is called moving the goalpost. 😊
