I understand where you’re coming from but this is a poor point. It’s more of survivorship bias/selection bias thing. You could just as well rephrase it as “The guy who wants power the most will disguise himself as a revolutionary to achieve it.” There are plenty throughout history who have turned down more power, but of course those who want power will typically do whatever they can to obtain it.

Power is fine so long as those with power also respect their responsibility toward that over which they hold power. What we're seeing now is a ruling class that is trying to shed as much of their responsibility as possible while taking more and more power. AI is expediting that process tremendously.
