My mom bought a doodle back in 2020 and we were unaware of the breeding. So many people hate on her which will get them nowhere. Shes such a sweet girl and has been told she’d be an amazing therapy dog by vets. People call her ugly and everything like that. I’d never get another doodle but she’s the sweetest thing ever and I would never hate on a dog because it was born

People also don’t realize how hard it is to find good information about ethical breeding outside of tiktok. Google will say doodle breeding is ethical, if someone doesn’t know the right terms they will be pointed in the way of unethical breeding. My other family members have had dogs their whole life but don’t even know the nuances that i learnt on here. It works way better if you tell people the good things about ethical breeding rather than just the bad parts about backyard breeding in my experience. If i talk about health testing, them not going to shelters things like that my family has started looking for those things in breeders and aren’t defensive as they would be if i went up to my auntie and told her her mutts are ugly looking things. (Theyre not) people on here are so unwilling to teach people and just wanna insult em.

this is my boy Sammy, i was barely a teenager when we got him and he is my best friend in this whole world. I believe all dogs need a loving home so I don’t regret bringing him home. As i grew up I did my research on doodles and i definitely wouldn’t personally get another doodle after he leaves us. I have a special place in my heart for doodles because they are so hated on especially here in the grooming industry, they just don’t get love which i never understood because it’s not their fault and never was, they didn’t ask to me be born, so it’s our job to show them love where we can.

I hate the people who breed them. I hate the people that care more about money than actually doing right by the dogs. That’s not just doodles it’s every breed mix or not. Shitty breeders that care more about making a buck and create unhealthy animals that suffer. If someone wants a doodle fine but ethically source one. Want a specific breed but don’t want to spend what a wellbred would cost find a breed specific rescue.

This applies for literally ANY animal care knowledge. People actually listen when they’re approached with empathy and it truly irritates me when fellow animal people turn people away from communities worth of knowledge with their rudeness

I dont hate firefly axlotls "morphs".. I HATE the DISKUSTING people who are literally CUTTING 2 perfectly healthy axlotls into 2, swapping the body's and sowing them back together... WTF is wrong with people! money is not worth making an absolute ABOMINATION of an animal!!

The thing that bothers me is most people don’t care to learn about ethical responsible breeding. Even when given the opportunity they would rather stay set in their ways. I’ve experienced this with strangers, acquaintances and my own family. They just brush it off and see it as unimportant to them. This is true for so many things, not just dog breeding or pet ownership. Unfortunately it’s common to want to be comfortable instead of challenged. I find that to be the bigger issue than the one you are addressing here.

My personal thought is if you BUY a doodle it proves you’re not responsible enough to own a dog it does not mean that the ones here don’t deserve a good life

people with doodles refuse to accept that they spent thousands of dollars for a mutt tho. we've tried explaining but they never listen. I don't hate any dog. it's the breeders and the owners who don't do proper research.
