@mementomikkie: On May 27th 1995 Superman actor Christopher Reeve narrowly escaped death when he was thrown from a horse during an equestrian competition. The accident left him paralyzed from the neck down and he became dependent on a ventilator to breathe. Less than a year later, Christopher surprised the Academy Awards with his first public appearance since the life altering accident. Christopher Reeve was born September 25th 1952 and passed away October 10th 2004 he was 52. Before his passing he and his devoted wife Dana started the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to researching treatments and improving the quality of life for those living with paralysis. Christopher's wife Dana passed away less than 2 years after Christopher in March 2006, she was just 44. May the two rest in peace 🥀🥀 The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation still operates today.
