@remotewithrashida: Working from home does NOT automatically mean nobody is watching you. 👀 🚨 Follow and save my page @remotewithrashida for more REAL talk about working from home and growing your remote career. 📌 I saw someone ask how to handle a WFH job that requires employees to stay on camera for the entire shift. And listen...that would definitely make me read that policy VERY carefully. 😂 Every remote company has its own rules. Some care about cameras during meetings. Some track productivity in other ways. And some have much stricter expectations. If your employer requires the camera, my advice isn't to figure out how to get around it. Figure out exactly what the policy requires and make your workspace work for YOU within those rules. Position your camera intentionally. Protect as much of your home's privacy as the policy allows. Know when you're allowed to turn it off. And keep the things you need throughout your shift nearby. But here's the bigger lesson: Getting the remote job isn't the only thing that matters. The company's WFH culture matters too. If being watched on camera for eight hours would make you miserable, that's something to consider when you're deciding what kind of remote employer you want to work for. Would an all-day camera requirement be a dealbreaker for you? 👀 #wfhmom #remotework #workfromhome #wfhlife #workingmom

that is way too much micromanaging. if they have to watch you all day it means they have no trust in their employees.

thank goodness my wfm only asked for camera to be on during the 3 weeks training. Once we hit production, they told us to unplug it, not turn off, unplug completely. They don't micromanage, they ask if you going on break just turn your aux on break, just don't over do it since they already give us 2 breaks and a lunch. These jobs be doing too much
