Meet Beki Nyland, a tiny poodle puppy that is scared out of her mind. She’s maybe 7-8 weeks old? My first interaction with her she hides in the back corner of her kennel, not looking at me, shaking like a leaf. A puppy this age should be naturally inquisitive, and curious about new people, with ignorant optimism and blissful happiness. Instead, she acts like she’s seen some sh!t. Trying to make herself smaller and disappear into the corner. Operating like if she can’t see me I can’t see her. Behavior that implies she’s fearful. I feel the name @Beki Nyland is especially appropriate for this little baby. Beki Nyland was one of the hair stylists at @Kansas City Fashion Week. Me being the hot mess I am couldn’t get from my house to Union Station without managing to unintentionally rip out the barrettes that had been placed in my hair by my friend Erin Fitzgibbon (@ErinFitz), who was kind enough to fix my hair for me. Beki was kind enough to do damage control on my hair, out of the kindness of her heart, since I’m not girly enough to know how to do it myself. 🤦🏻‍♀️🫠 This little poodles hair is a hot mess, soaking wet when she was handed over to me. It feels apropos to name this baby after the person who saved my hair, so I can pay the good deed forward.
