An odd but sweet realization I had the other night (while thinking about my birds) was that in the wild, they're never really make kissy noises. However, in captivity, they make it a lot, and I think it is because our birds know how positive and loving kiss noises are, they understand it as affectionate, and the primary affection we give them, so it makes them so happy it becomes one of the most regular sounds in their vocabulary. It made me so sentimental of my birds, especially the ones who came from bad homes and didn't know the noise before I started making it to them 😭😭😭
