And that’s another thing why leave it to a church why not leave it to Young Farmer getting started I know a piece of ground it’s gonna get left to church. They’re gonna get probably 1500 acres and all the machinery and his church is going our area that be one of the worstto leave it to

search Nebraska sandhills for ownership and you find they the Mormon church is probably the largest land owner but it's known by a ranch name

Church’s, church colleges and probably more organizations do it more than we realize. It’s everywhere and it’s not stopping. Worse yet cities, counties and states are all playing a speculative game with real estate as well or loaning tax dollars to developers and investors to gather up real estate for industrial complex’s and data centers. Church’s are an endless money supply to compete with. But city, county and state playing the same game is worse and bidding against yourself. To make it worse when county city state do take ownership your property tax goes up cause more tax base acres have been lost and the rest of the land owners have to pickup the slack. You’re not going to win fighting it, donations and tax dollars are all (free) competitive money it doesn’t run out and can always get more it’s endless. Everything is a land grab anymore. Very few independent individuals buy, build or develop business anymore. Everything is pools of money and government is always involved where pools of money are flowing into streams. Government over reach, spending other people’s money that’s free is the root of it all and the business model for all and the same model all other organizations follow.

Should we put also put restrictions on how many acres one person or entity can own? How about how many houses one person or entity could own? Wouldn’t restrictions on both help with supply and make new ownership easier?

You make a great point about being the big guy. I know some very wealthy farmers and they think they're the cat's meow. People that run businesses like pharmaceutical, energy, tech, and other companies make these guys look like hayseeds.

Around where I was the Mormon church owned thousands of acres. A small farmer couldn't even rent it. There were a few large farmers that bid amongst each other on rent. smaller farmers weren't offered or couldn't compete on rent. Let alone a young farmer.
