Reform needs a bit of an update re renewable energy and the grid needs updating to accommodate the renewable energy generation we now have, a lot of which is just going to waste. We DO need to achieve net zero, buy the transition must be properly and sensibly managed. Britain has just produced the most efficient ever solar cells, the best wave power generator which is being sold abroad, the Rolls Royce mini nuclear generators, and is at the forefront of fusion research: but if only the grid were ready, we would already be able to use the extra wind capacity we are paying to keep switched off. The government doesn't even know this problem exists when they rabbit on ignorantly about net zero.
