At this point in my life, I want to be able to work from my laptop, make a living and still have time for my wife, my girls and everything else I actually want to do. So instead of asking AI for a list of “jobs for people over 50,” I’d make it figure out what fits ME. Open ChatGPT or Claude and paste this: “I’m in my 50s or 60s and want to earn a living online while having more control over my time. Interview me ONE question at a time about my work experience, skills, interests, current income, available time and how much I realistically want to earn. Then show me 3 realistic online paths where my existing experience could be valuable. Include remote work, freelancing, consulting, digital products, affiliate marketing or an online business if they fit me. For each, explain how it makes money, what I’d need to learn, how difficult it is to get started and what I should do first. Then help me choose ONE to investigate further. Don’t overwhelm me. Ask your first question.” That’s what I like about AI. After 30+ years of working, you probably have skills you don’t even realize somebody would pay for.
