AnaKagetsu :
Gary Sinise as Stu was absolutely *perfect* casting. He will forever be Stu in my mind.

Stuart shouldn’t be pretty! He should just be a regular guy like Gary Sinise. He was a guy who worked at the gas station.

As a longtime fan of The Stand, I’m loving this series from you. I would really love to hear a Larry Underwood comparison take from you if you’re inclined

The 94 version made with a Hollywood blockbuster budget would have been unbeatable. As it stands (pun intended), the 94 miniseries will forever be what I see upon every reread. The soundtrack was epic as well. I can’t even think about the remake. It made me angry😅

Alexander Skarsgard as Flag was the the best part of the newer version and that is about it.

I watched 2 episodes of 2020 and shut it off. It was absolutely unwatchable.

I feel like the new version was a cliff notes version. there was no emotional depth. they just went through the book with a quickness, highlighting the "important stuff."

I love the 90s version and refuse to watch the 2020 version. I love the casting of the first one. it just worked so well.

The 90s Stand was SUCH a phenomenon. The comeback of Rob Lowe alone.

I watched the 1994 version for the first time at like 12, fell in love, read the book and I just can’t get through the 2020 version!

Gary Sinise comes off as a trustworthy blue collar guy. James is more well meaning personal trainer

The Stand is my favorite King book. I can't finish the 2020 version because of the chopped up timeline. The original miniseries stuck to the unfolding timeline, making you be invested in the horror, the hope, the journey of everyone. I did like a lot of the casting in 2020 version, but Gary definitely embodied Stu better!

"really pretty people haven't gotten enough helpful feedback in life. throughout their lives, too many people have said, 'that's a great idea.'" this is one of the most insightful statements of ever heard.

I love the 90s version so much. It’s a little campy… but like the book is a little camp.

I liked the 2020 version, but the 90s one has my heart. It's so very earnest and so much of the casting is impeccable imo

i think part of the issue is that it is james marsden. he's not a bad actor. but i am all too aware of what he has done in real life. stu wouldn't write a character reference for a rapist on trial 🤷♀️
