The Prophet of Allah said, No, it's not one. There are seven. One sphere is inside another sphere. And we are in the innermost sphere. And the Sahaba asked, Ya Rasulullah, how do they look like? And then Prophet said, "Once you go through a sphere, you'll find out that it's a ring. It's as small as a ring within a desert". It's the wording of the Prophet of Allah. Ring inside a desert. But once you're going to cross the section, it'll seem like a ring within a desert. And then once you're going to go to the third, the same thing's going to happen. So it's a ring within a desert. Why is this analogy important? Because the ring is the smallest circle. And the desert is an infinitely bigger area than that little ring. But that ring is a circular thing, right? So the Prophet of Allah is telling us that there is a circular door. Now, let us begin. It was considered like finding a unicorn. Now we've gotten into it. We've actually photographed the silhouette, the shadow of a black hole. But that's just the beginning. You see, this black hole is spinning. Spinning rapidly. And if you look at Einstein's equations, they have a spinning black hole. They don't collapse to a dot. They collapse to a ring. A ring of neutrons, such as a typical force, prevents it from collapsing If you were to fall through the North Pole of the ring, you wind up, mathematically, on a parallel universe. Islamic texts give us a cosmological sequence. 1. Earth We live on the Earth, which Allah created along with the heavens. The Qur’an says: Allah is He who created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of them... Qur’an 65:12 The Qur’an also speaks of seven earths, although scholars differ on the exact meaning and arrangement of this. 2. The first/lowest heaven — as-Samā’ ad-Dunyā Above our world is the lowest heaven. Allah says: Indeed, We adorned the lowest heaven with the adornment of stars. Qur’an 37:6 So the stars and celestial objects we see belong to the lowest heaven according to the Islamic Teaching The Qur’an also calls it the “nearest heaven” (as-samā’ ad-dunyā). 3. The second through seventh heavens Above the first heaven are six more heavens, making seven in total. The Qur’an says: He created seven heavens, one above another. Qur’an 71:15 The Prophet ﷺ described the enormous scale between them during the Mi‘rāj. He was taken through the heavens and met different prophets in them: 1. First heaven: Adam ﷺ 2. Second: Yahya ﷺ and Isa ﷺ 3. Third: Yusuf ﷺ 4. Fourth: Idris ﷺ 5. Fifth: Harun ﷺ 6. Sixth: Musa ﷺ 7. Seventh: Ibrahim ﷺ This is reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. 4. What is beyond the seventh heaven? Here things become part of the unseen, and we should not invent details that the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah don't establish. Islamic texts mention the Sidrat al-Muntahā (Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary) in connection with the Prophet's Mi‘rāj: At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary.” Qur’an 53:14 The Prophet ﷺ saw it during his ascent. 5. The Kursī The Kursī is a creation of Allah and is distinct from the heavens. The Āyat al-Kursī says: His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth. Qur’an 2:255 A famous report attributed to Ibn Abbas compares the seven heavens and seven earths in relation to the Kursī to a ring thrown into a vast desert the ring being tiny compared with the desert. This is meant to convey the extraordinary magnitude of the Kursī, not give us a measurable physical dimension. 6. The `Arsh Throne Above the Kursī is the `Arsh (Throne) of Allah.
