@therightwinguncut: THE PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR WAS ACCUSED OF PAYING HERSELF… NEARLY $2 MILLION. Illinois investigators say a corporate payroll administrator was accused of taking nearly $2 million from her employer over several years. When detectives arrived with a search warrant, she initially stayed behind the door while repeatedly telling officers: "I'm on the phone with my lawyer." She eventually came outside and was arrested. Investigators alleged the scheme involved company payroll and banking access, forged checks, company-funded purchases and other unauthorized expenses. Then came the detail that probably made investigators look twice: Her phone contained searches about fraud, money laundering, asset misappropriation and potential Illinois felony sentences. She was charged with offenses including theft involving more than $1 million, continuing financial crimes enterprise and forgery, and she pleaded not guilty.
