THIS is the take. There have been SO many horrible misunderstandings about this movie. I don’t even think it painted Chris in that bad of a light. I also see parallels to world policing (they showed the Iraq War multiple times), who is in charge, and are we actually solving anything by involving ourselves in moral questions?

I saw it more as a portrayal of the perception of Chris as a showman and how the pressures of the network and the intensity of the job led to error. In order to have a successful show, there needed to be sensationalism and entertainment and that was kind of a driving force behind the unraveling of the show.

Reminds me of the bible quote that set up the point of Nope: "I will cast abominable filth at you, make you vile, make you a spectacle.". Everyone involved in that show was a type of predator masquerading as good or just. For the views.
