Your mom could turn them to a pattern and then you can turn each leg into a new tote bag or maybe some sort of repurpose hand me down situation for any littles in your life. We turned my dad‘s old PJs and shirt sleeves into Barbie clothes.

This just looks like the fabric wasn’t really heavy enough for pants in the first place. I hope you can make a pattern and get a new pair in a more durable fabric!

to make a cpoy of those pants look up cloning clothes. its a fantastic sewing tool/skill to have! you can renforce them from the start.

It’s the enshitification of everything. They’re making the fibers in the fabric shorter because it’s cheaper but you’re more likely to get holes rips and tears in your clothes

My linen pants from lands end have started to wear just like that in the thighs. Also about 2 months old! Hopefully they won’t split like those but I will be getting the thighs reinforced this month.

If you don’t end up patterning the pants, you could try the tapioca pants and/or lane pants that would be a similar pattern. That fabric does look incredibly fine. Unfortunately, that would’ve made a better top and not pants that need more density. You might be able to make something with the fabric of the legs like a cute cropped top so you don’t have to waste it too much and save something 🥰🥰
