I write an e-bike to work most days, but that's just because I'm 40 years old and I'm trying to get in shape, but I totally agree with you, there's no need to be buzzing around and be disrespectful, you actually get a lot better miles out of your battery if you slow down and use your pedals 🤠👍

Those things are a scourge. I see those motorized things on the spring Creek Greenway, where it’s posted no motorized vehicles and it drives me crazy. Also, there’s like a DUI guy who rides in there on one of those battery driven motorcycles going 40 mph blaring the most awful mediocre 70s music on some kind of speaker system at full blast and it’s the rudest thing ever. Sitting in the park one day after a ride, enjoying my Gatorade, I asked him if he would please turn his music down and he told me where to go. Nice.

I’ve had a e-bike about a year and commute to work every day. I’m very unfit and have a few breathing issues. This was a way of being able to ride. The funny thing is I have just bought a regular bike, the e-bike has definitely helped with my fitness and given me the confidence too get on a regular bike.

Totally agree, I bought one in June, just pedal assist limited to 15mph, it opens up a whole new world, I love all my bikes but an e-bike is just another tool in my box, give way to walkers and be kind, most people usually when oncoming stop to thank you and maybe even strike up a chat, had many chats with total strangers either walking the dog or just out for a stroll. Excellent advice to all Chris.

I have an e-bike and just avoid trails and try to avoid sidewalks because most people don't listen 😅, I shout 'excuse me' or 'can you move please?' and they don't, then they get startled when I come up pretty close behind them so they can move lol, or I go around them on the grass. Now I'm someone who walks with music blasting in my earbuds but I also keep aware of my surroundings

I used to be a menace on my (acoustic) bike on the shared trail on my way to work. The only reason I was on that trail though was because I got hit by a car on the street so I changed my route to work. It sucks that there is no place only for cyclists: we either have to share space with cars and risk injuring ourselves or share space with pedestrians and risk injuring them.

Be careful on crowded bike paths. Kids will almost Always go the opposite way you expect when passing. On your left does not matter. Slow down ! ✌️

I love it 🥰 Shared space is exactly the point. Not to mention that most walkers wear earbuds. Bells and lights are mandatory in most countries when you are on the road.
