had the WOUND CARE NURSE accuse me and 3 other cnas of going out for a smoke break. meanwhile 2 were doing a hoyer and i was trying to help the last cna convince a resident who hasn't showered in over a month to get one. all bc she was pissed that she had to walk down the hall to grab a snack for a resident. she did this on two separate occasions. oh and mid med pass you wanna know what she did? took a 30 minute smoke break.

Mind ya. You chose this program that takes weeks to finish… for a reason. It’s a hard job. Physically and mentally. Your only choice is to keep pushing forward and move up. That’s the only reason to ever be a CNA. To help your healthcare journey. To climb up the ladder. You don’t be a CNA to make money or to “help” it will destroy you. If you want money, guaranteed serving at a decent place will make more money with less hours and less mental exhaustion than CNA. If you truly want to help people you’d at the very minimum be a LPN where you at least get paid a livable wage.

Ive had a whole pod in the emergency room to myself in the past, that is 25+ patients. In one occasion I had the trauma pod and once again that was 25+ patients. A nurse that had about 6 patients came up to me asking if I can get vitals on one of her patients. I looked up at her in a serious tone and told her I have the whole pod to myself.. she tells me, well when you have a chance and I said in an even more serious tone that I have the whole pod to myself… she didn’t dare ask me for anything the rest of the night.

Been there done. But I was with another patient 1A & down the hall. Meanwhile she is right at the room yelling down to me. I said if all she wanted is water is there any reason you can’t give the person water since your right there & I can’t leave my persons at this moment
