@mydarlingbirds: I’ve received a few comments saying that cleaning a bird bath doesn’t really make a difference because birds will drink dirty water anyway. And honestly… yes. Birds aren’t exactly known for being picky about their water. But that doesn’t mean dirty water is the best option for them. Bird baths can collect droppings, feathers, food debris, algae and microorganisms, especially during the warmer months. Regularly dumping the old water, scrubbing the basin and refilling it with fresh water gives the birds a cleaner place to drink and bathe.
