Mandelic acid serum from Face Reality! It comes in did strengths so you can start low if you’d like. But I have the same routine as you and use my mandelic acid once a week! Mandelic acid is a larger molecule than other acids so it is more gentle and preferred for skin of color. I swear by it!

Acne has came out of no where and I’m 31 I haven’t had acne since I was a teenager and that only lasted about 2 years idk what to do. I’m wondering if I should get a chemical peel first because of all the hyperpigmentation it’s out of control. If I do that first will it be safe to do the azelaic acid and tretinoin combo ? If anyone knows the answer please help

For exfoliation I use glycolic acid. I don’t do it on a schedule, just as needed. And whatever night I use glycolic acid to exfoliate I skip tretinoin that night. I use tretinoin nightly and azelaic acid every morning.

Use dermalogica daily exfoliate, I agree with you on the exfoliating I need it because how else would I remove the dead sling it took my like 1.5 year to be able to do it basically everyday but I’m good now . Avene cicalfate is the best to repair skin barrier or I use it every night on top of my tretinoin

tret cleared my skin, but my skin could NOT get over the INSANE rash-like itchyness, dryness & tightness that I experienced.. + the constant weak skin barrier—I had to quit it [Crying][Crying]

I love a good exfoliant and it’s super necessary for the skin flaking. But honestly I was overdoing it. I use the demalogica microexfoliant powder once a week. Not more than that ! Too much exfoliation can also damage your skin barrier ! Learned that thru horrible trial and error LOL

i think u should consider the eadem cashmere peel, it's a good balance between gentle exfoliation and hydration

I tried tret for a year and it was the same thing—always flaky no matter what I tried. I think some people just flake/peel more on tret 🤷 I gave up lol

Try and actual exfoliant and not a chemical one. I use one with a gritty texture once a week in the shower and it’s very helpful
