@somalisnaps: The Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF), including both maritime and land units, seized the M.T. SIBU 1 after carrying out a planned 48-hour maritime operation. The vessel had been hijacked by a group of pirates on 20 August 2026. The pirates had demanded a $3 million ransom for the ship, which was scheduled to be handed over tomorrow. The captured ship and the pirates on board are currently being brought to Garacad Port and are expected to arrive within the next few hours. Three other ships remain in pirate hands off the Puntland coast. Operations will be launched in the coming days against the three ships currently held by the pirates. #somalia #pirates
