@markhasara: This is something you don’t see everyday! A Kalitta Air Cargo 777 OVER ROTATED on takeoff and the consequences were immediate and spectacular! Sparks are flying under the tail of the airplane as Boeing metal comes in contact with the hard surface of the runway. Why is a tail strike like this a problem? First, there is significant damage to the empannage of the aircraft. This jet may be out of service for a while, translating to lost revenue. Second is the Airfield manager needs to inspect the runway, which can only be done by closing the runway.
