Our responsibility goes beyond money, views, popularity and followers. We must question the information we receive, seek reliable sources and recognize the suffering of people whose voices are too often ignored. The comfortable lifestyles enjoyed in many wealthy countries should never make us forget the human and environmental costs of global inequality, exploitation and conflict. To those who attack others while hiding behind anonymous profiles, I say: let's replace personal insults with open, respectful and courageous discussion. If you have a platform followed by hundreds of thousands of people, you also have an opportunity to encourage awareness and meaningful dialogue. History reminds us that silence and indifference can allow oppression and authoritarianism to grow. We all have a responsibility to defend democratic values, freedom of expression and human dignity. If expressing these convictions costs me followers, views or even my social media presence, I accept that. My dignity and principles matter more than popularity.
