@ajakguong: Coming soon | The story of Achec Malual Ariik The late Achec Malual Ariik, known as Achecdit, was born in Angakuei. She was the wife of the late Chief Ayom Dor Yor and the mother of General Malual Ayom Dor Yoor. When her husband was killed by the Sudanese army in the 1960s, she helped raise the children he left behind and continued to pay homage at his grave. After Bor was destroyed in 1991, Achecdit advocated for people to resettle on their land. She did not favour urban settlement and held to that position until her death in 2026. On 6 December 2020, AG Media recorded a 50-minute interview with her in Pakuau, Bor. She spoke about her life, her family and how her husband was killed. Some dates had faded from memory, but she told the story as she remembered it. She also sang a dising song composed against her father, Malual Ariik Ajak of Angakuei, while holding her symbolic lion.
