It's a common "mistake" to associate ourselves with a group when ever it works for us but reject it otherwise. Like in sport where "we" won and "they" lost. And the correct answer is to never do it: men have no credit for what other men do, good or bad. The only moment people are responsible is when they did something, or let that thing happen by their inaction. It's as simple as that.

I dont like Andrew Wilson but you're definitely stuck in a logical fallecy. The enforcement arm of upholding rights isn't limited to soldiers. You could even argue that society has stereotyped men in general into upholding others rights and defending others. That's a majority concept, where as a vast minority of men would be murderers. You're doing the equivalent of saying women can be mothers and are therefore more maternal, and saying that's the same as Lindsay Clancey killed her children therefore women kill their children. A majority and fringe are not the same.
