Chingatewey :
Friendly reminder this is the first time Ozai is seeing Aang in person. Ozai has never seen an avatars eyes glow, let alone an air nomad Avatars glowing tattoos. All of the knowledge of the Avatar Ozai knows is almost mystical. From his perspective he has just seen this 12 year old turn into the fucking boogeyman.

Scene is actually thematically perfect and is a absolute culmination of everything that came before it. Insane how well written this was for a kids show, one of the best finales ever

When he overpowers him and starts his badass monologue with “Fire Lord Ozai, You and your forefathers…” I get chills everytime. If I need a pick me up or to feel like a badass, I remember that.

It’s crazy thinking about how lethal Ozai’s attacks are intended to be… like he’s trying to kill a child in a pretty gruesome way

"Fire lord Ozai, you and your forefathers have devastated the balance of this world. And now, you shall pay the ultimate price." Genuinely shivered my timbers the first time I saw it as a kid, especially the genuine fear in his eyes.

the way he controlled the fire in him was a measure of his restraint as the avatar

I hope the new show gives us some scene close to this. I don't see them topping it but they can try

notice how he had to do a little move around his head before he airbends EVEN IN THE AVATAR STATE. stylish. maybe even necessary if we cope hard enough. this is why I hate punch bending in the newer series. I'm not saying do a whole dance routine but c'mon spin around a bit. widen that stance. SOMETHING
