Do the learning on this category. Because the first use case is art, and art is upstream of wealth. There is a shit ton of wealth in crypto. Maybe more interestingly to some, these art assets have a contract layer. Think of it like a digital asset you own that operates almost like a QR code, where the issuer can give you benefits through the asset. Communities then organise around these assets because of the social signalling. The famous pseudonymous crypto investor Punk6529 once said that technology gets consumerised when consumers stop talking about the technology. NFTs are the first time we’re really seeing that play out. People are buying them because they resonate with the art, the artist or the utility layer built into the contract. They don’t necessarily care about the technology underneath. They’re also a huge function of the ETH ecosystem, where most blue-chip NFTs live. So when people are up in ETH terms, they naturally start looking for somewhere to rotate those gains. And expressive art assets are one of those places.
