my sons principal and vp showed up when he was in kindergarten. I called the superintendent office so fast. they were let go. this is NOT allowed at all. especially during school hours.

I’ve worked in 2 states and have never heard of going to someone’s house for an IEP meeting!! Parents come to the school or they can do it on the phone. This is insane!

If these are school officials or people, the child is likely chronically late or has missed a number of days of school (which can be common for kids with IEP’s), and the district, or the county truancy team is looking to apply some pressure. You just gotta know your rights and stand firm. Usually works out.

Iep family: you can put in the iep that your excuse notes count so any missed days will not be used against you. I did and it has given me so much peace from the harassment when he misses school

If a parent never replies we do home visits now. We are now required to have two way communication because of how litigious parents are.
