@thesameerproject: Sila suffers from Severe Acute Malnutrition. She is one of the babies being closely followed by doctors at The Sameer Project’s Tawbah Clinic in Jabalia Camp. With malnutrition, even small improvements in weight, height, and development matter. They show that a child is moving in the right direction. Through consistent follow-up, treatment, and nutritional support, Sila’s condition is improving. The Sameer Project has been purchasing nutritional biscuits and nut butter for malnourished children. But this is something we should not have to pay for. International relief organizations have supplies of therapeutic and nutritional products intended for children suffering from malnutrition. We have reached out to UNICEF and others requesting support for Tawbah Clinic so these supplies can reach the children our doctors are already treating. Our doctors are already identifying, treating, and following babies and toddlers who are not meeting their growth milestones. With access to the proper nutritional supplies, they could reach even more children. Sila’s improvement shows exactly why consistent care matters. Malnourished children cannot be treated once and forgotten. They need follow-up, nutritional support, and doctors who continue showing up for them. Until we can gain the support of organizations that have this aid for free, we need you to give to our Medical Campaign so we don’t live babies like Sila waiting for help.
