@jackkinsey_: ad OMG… I was eyeing up this headboard to buy until I realised it was OVER £1,000 😭 and you know me, I’m a cheapskate 😂 So with the help of my new Cricut Maker 5 from @CricutUK I thought… surely I can make my own?! I made the headboard from MDF, using spray adhesive to add upholstery foam and wadding to create that lovely plush shape. And then came possibly the most beige and bland fabric imaginable… but for good reason 👀 because I wanted to use my Cricut to attempt BLOCK PRINTING my own fabric for the first time! I found these gorgeous pre-loaded floral designs in Cricut Design Space, cut them from a foam sheet using the Maker 5, stuck them onto little blocks of wood and got the fabric paint out… Then came the moment of truth, praying to the Cricut gods that this would actually work 😂 AND IT DID! I absolutely LOVE the effect. 🌸 It completely transformed such a plain fabric and gave the headboard that bespoke, boutique feel I was hoping for. I did get a little overconfident with one print and pressed down too firmly, leaving a small smudge… but we don’t sweat the small stuff around here 😂 So I grabbed some fabric pens, turned it into a tiny bumblebee 🐝 and now I genuinely wouldn’t be without him. Happy mistake! Oh, and the piping? Stuck on with fabric tape because I still don’t know how to sew 😂 Over £1,000 for the headboard I wanted… or making my own completely unique version with my Cricut Maker 5?
