The way they’re in the DEEPEST sleep in your arms but the second their back touches the crib, they’re wide awake 😭😂 Like HOW do you know?!

Day naps are the worst!!!😭 I have a 3 month baby girl and she sleeps perfect at night in her bassinet but WILL NOT sleep in it or her crib during the day. 🫠

Our baby will exclusively contact nap or nap in his swing. He’s a dream at night in his crib tho

Tummy sleeping has saved me. It’s not safe sleep I get it but I do actually need to shower, go to the toilet, cook dinner and generally just exist with out my baby… tummy sleeping gave me that. I weighed the risks and made the choice

How long are you waiting before transferring? When I worked with a sleep consultant they said first 10/15min-ish they’re falling asleep so no go for transferring in that time until they transition into a deeper sleep, to check move their arm - if it’s floppy it’s safe if resistant/moves/pulls back it’s not safe to transfer. And transfer feet first, then bum, then lay & head last with hand on chest/belly with light pressure for like 30sec post 🙏🏼

Blackout curtains and a sound machine. Put a heating pad (on low) in the bassinet and remove it before you lie baby down. Check to make sure the spot isn't too but before putting baby down. Signed a professional postpartum doula and sleep trainer.

No advice… did everything everyone recommended and mine was just a contact napper 😵‍💫 I just finally leaned into it once I accepted my fate. I hope you find what works for you both. 🫶🏼

swaddle, do the transfer, if he wakes, shuhs and pat him in the cot. definitely don't pick him up straight away in to an upright position.

I know they say laying them on their back is best but both of my babies exclusively slept on their stomach! And a noise machine is a life saver.

How old is he? Just instead of picking him up, put the bassinet closer to your bed and just comfort him pat his belly gently and shush him. Sit down while you do it just be patient and it’ll pay off I know it may not work for every baby but it worked for me I wasn’t a fan of cry it out.

Put a heating pad in the bassinet and warm it for like 10 min before transfer then right before you put him in take out the heating pad and turn it off. Then put baby down SUPER slow butt first and kind of roll the torso down, head last to touch. DO NOT move your hands from underneath baby for a hot minute and just wait. Then slowly pull your hands away and if he even moves a tiny bit put your hand on baby’s chest with light pressure and hold there till they stop stirring. If they stir more rock or wiggle the bassinet till they chill out but do not make eye contact lol

just keep practicing! don’t see the transfer fail and contact nap as a loss. my daughter was a terrible napper if not on me. i still tried for at least one every single day. i found her morning nap to be the easiest to get her to sleep for and would practice every morning until it slowly got better and she stayed in there longer and longer. it took months of us trying for day time naps but we got there and she still naps 2.5 hours a day at 3 years old and is an amazing independent sleeper
