With recurrent pregnancy loss, there can be value in looking more closely at the whole fertility picture. Depending on the individual case, this may include thyroid function and thyroid antibodies, antiphospholipid antibodies, the uterine cavity and anatomy, ovulation and the menstrual cycle, metabolic health, genetic factors where indicated, and the male partner and sperm health. The history of each individual pregnancy matters too. When the losses occurred, how the pregnancies progressed and what investigations have already been completed can all help determine what may be appropriate to investigate next.
