@dominionlegacyschowode: How Home Environment Affects Children’s Learning A child’s home environment plays a very important role in their learning and academic performance. What happens at home can either support a child’s education or make learning more difficult. 1. Peaceful home 🏠 Children learn better when there is peace and stability at home. Constant quarrelling, shouting or tension can affect their concentration and emotions. 2. Parental support ❤️ When parents show interest in their children’s education, check their books, ask about school and encourage them to study, children tend to take learning more seriously. 3. Reading culture 📚 A home where children are encouraged to read, write and practise their schoolwork helps them develop better academic habits. 4. Discipline and routine Having a proper routine for homework, meals, play and sleep helps children become organised and responsible. 5. Sleep and rest 😴 Children who do not get enough sleep may come to school tired, sleepy and unable to concentrate properly. 6. Use of phones and television 📱 Too much time on phones, games or television can reduce the time children spend reading, doing homework and interacting with their parents. 7. Language and communication Children learn a lot from conversations at home. Parents who talk with their children, ask questions and allow them to express themselves help develop their vocabulary and communication skills. 8. Emotional support Children need to feel loved, accepted and encouraged. Constant criticism, comparison with other children or harsh words can affect their confidence and willingness to learn. The message for parents School and home must work together. A teacher can teach a child for a few hours, but the child spends much more time at home. Therefore, parents have a major role to play in creating an environment that encourages learning. A child’s academic success is not only the responsibility of the school. The home environment matters too.#homelesson #learning #school #experience
