I’ve seen you do all kinds of Bible translations. What about the CSB? Maybe I just missed it but I’ve really been liking it, but I hear there’s a lot of controversy around it.

I have a Every Man's NLT Bible and I love it. I also have physical Bibles of the NIV, NASB1995, NKJV, CEV, and I think I have an ESV as well.

It was a little better once they updated it. I hang that opinion on one verse. I played piano for a friend’s church plant and they were using the NLT first edition. They had given my wife and I a couple of the award Bibles. And the first sermon series he was doing was an exegetical read through the Gospel of John. When it got to chapter 8 I had a mini revolt in my head. When Jesus answers the Pharisees that ask him how he could have seen Abraham the original NLT translation had Jesus respond with “I tell you the truth. I existed before Abraham.” It’s essentially correct but the point of the verse is that Jesus refers to himself as “I AM.” They have since updated the NLT to make that exchange more correct but I’m not a fan of the NLT.

I use the NLT for reading to my 6 year old son. It makes it easy for him to understand and is good enough for explaining things to a 6 year old
