My pug, Penelope, just passed 6 days ago. I just went and got her ashes yesterday, and I am more broken than I have been over any human I've ever lost, which there have been over a dozen. Closer to 20, actually. I was holding her when she passed, and ever since, it's like a huge part of me was taken too, leaving me completely empty and lost.

My soul cat died yesterday and my whole life is crushed. I have been asking and praying for some kind of message or sign from her and in the early hours this morning our smoke detector downstairs started blaring even though there was no smoke. I want to think it was her sign to me that she still loves me, that she is doing okay and is out there somewhere. I also have a photo from when that specific detector was installed a couple of years ago. My cat was sitting on the stairs right next to it while it was being installed

I’ve always had the absolute best pets. They have always been the sweetest animals. And they always have the right energy for me. They always have a similar vibe. I can see my cat now being the same soul as my first ever cat. They both had a very calm and chill personality. They both were found as young kittens.
