As someone who used to work for Verizon. This is real and you are screwed if this happens. Turn ON number lock and sim protection. I don’t care how hard it is do it! And freeze your credit reports. So people cannot access your credit without you unlocking it. And set up 2 factor authentication on your email to your number and another email. Know your freaking password! Because that may be the ONLY way you can get in and try to recover your identity. This is identity theft take it serious

everyone should freeze their credit! you can unfreeze if you need to, but you should leave it frozen whenever you arent applying for loans, or credit cards
