Cortisol isn't just a stress hormone. It's also what wakes you up every morning. In this conversation, Dr. Matthew Walker breaks down the cortisol cycle most people have never heard of. Throughout the day, cortisol follows a rhythm. As you move into the late evening hours, it begins to fall. And once you're in the first two to three hours of sleep, it hits its lowest point entirely. Then something shifts. Around four to five hours into sleep, cortisol starts climbing again. Not because something is wrong. Because that's exactly what it's supposed to do. One of its primary jobs is to bring you back to wakefulness. It's a reminder that the hormones we tend to associate with stress are doing something far more complex behind the scenes — running on a schedule your body has been keeping long before your alarm goes off. Tune into the full conversation, out now on all major streaming platforms.

my process for building creative apps (not ai slop) 1. Radical Exploration I believe every creative act begins by going down a random rabbit hole and exploring without boundaries. For this project specifically, that meant collecting tweets and design trends, as well as attending design panels to learn from people who not only build impressive projects, but also possess a depth of thought. I try to extrapolate from their reasoning and processes, then transform those insights into my own understanding. 2. Experimentation I started the process without even having a clear idea or concrete concept of what I wanted to build. But through constant experimentation, the idea gradually began to take shape. 3. Iteration Anything good comes from iteration. For this particular project, the process eventually led to a sharing feature that I had never even considered at the beginning. But I genuinely believe that for projects: 1000 iterations > 1000 hours.
