To keep the milk flowing year-round, the dairy industry relies on a continuous cycle: cows are artificially inseminated once a year, and their newborn calves are separated from them almost immediately so that the milk can be collected and sold. Female calves are kept to replace their mothers, while males having no value for milk production are either raised for veal or culled early on. Worn out by repeated pregnancies and heavy lactation, most dairy cows stop producing enough milk by age four to six and are sent to slaughter, living only a fraction of their natural twenty-year lifespan. #vegan #fyp

As a dairy farmer myself I look after my cows everyday and farmers do too we spend all are money and time looking after them as we care for them this is not dairy. people like you see only the bad farms ( yes there are bad farms where people abuse there animals ) but you scapegoat the bad ones and make it seem like that’s every farm
