my mom got diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. she survived. but it definitely made me appreciate her in a different light. now I remember all the good things and all the things that happened between her and I happened because neither one of us knew better. we still have a rocky relationship but I love my mom and I'm going to make sure she knows that I love her until the day she dies

I do feel alienated. When people my age talk about what they’re going to do with their parents this weekend or complain about their their parent being annoying I think “What would I give to have a weekend with my parents again.”

Yup. I don’t care if my coffee is too light or not the right color anymore. I don’t care about the little excuses, the small inconveniences, or the things I used to think were such a big deal. I feel like I woke up after my dad passed away. When you lose someone that close to you, especially when you’ve seen them there one moment and gone the next, something in you changes. Your past, your present, and everything you thought mattered suddenly collide at once. Your ex leaving doesn’t feel like the end of the world anymore. Someone annoying you doesn’t feel worth your energy. The little things just… become little. Because when you’ve already experienced one of the worst things you could imagine, your entire perspective on what deserves your energy changes.

Tell. E why I just acted like it didn’t happened when my dad killed him self the summer of sophomore year I was in marching band and told them I needed a day off of camp when really I was going to my dads funeral …. Nothing seemed real and yet everything kept happening

I lost both of my parents by the time I was 20 years old 😭 I live in the moment all the time.I don't argue with people I don't care if you don't like me. I just buried the person who would dye for me tomorrow is not promised.
